Borovets is the first mountain resort in Bulgaria and in the whole Balkan peninsula. The resort was founded in 1896 by the Bulgarian tsar Ferdinand and the Bulgarian royal family. Since then the resort is place for mountain tourism, winter sports and summer adventures.
Borovets resort is symbolic for the winter sports in Bulgaria. With its 3 ski centers, 58 km. ski runs and 12 lifts the resort offer great variety ot options for both beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders. There are two terrain parks in the resort. Borokids - specially designed place where the little guests will learn the basics and Snow Park Borosport - with many options for the freestyle riders.
Borovets offers many adventures not only in the winter, but in the summer, as well. Borovets Mountain Bike Park is a terrain in the mountain with trails, shaped for downhill, enduro, cross country & allmountain bikers. The guests can also enjoy many mountain tours, try mountaineering and rock climbing or join other summer activities as kayaking, archery, horse riding, etc.
